OKC Chums Do Decorator Show House

The Oklahoma City Chapter of Chums, Inc. hosted a social event for the purpose of fostering friendships with our Chum Sisters in the community.  We visited the Decorator Show House on June 9 and shared a meal at Cheever’s Restaurant after we toured the house.  This was a chance to bring friends or potential members for fun, fellowship, and gain a deeper appreciation of our common bond.  The 2019 Symphony Show House Tour Book is available online at  www.okcorchestraleague.orgJune 9, 2019

Roanoke Chapter - Local Project

On May 7, 2019 the Roanoke Chapter of Chums, Inc. supported our National Theme, “Listen to the children…enrich their lives”,  by donating two Literacy Centers to the Eureka Play Center (Positive Learning and Adventure for Youth) after school program, and Toadly Kids Early Learning Center.  One hundred seventy-five books ranging from preschool to third grade and display racks were donated to the centers.  This donation was made to supplement, enrich, and encourage literacy, growth of the youth in the after-school care program centers. We believe, “Reading should not be presented as a chore, a duty, but offered as a gift.” Charles Scribner Jr. The directors and children were extremely delighted and enthused to receive these valuable resources for their centers.

Beverly Jenkins Literary Workshop
